Abstract

Mahatma Gandhi’s definitely one of the greatest human right activists in modern history. Satyagraha, the essence of Gandhi’s nonviolent approach, advocated to protest and resist without blood and violence, but with peace and love. This idea has directly and dramatically inspired and encountered countless civil rights leaders to stand up and fight against injustice. Dr. Martin Luther King from the United States of America, Steve Biko and Nelson Mandela from South Africa and many have all adopted and combined Gandhian philosophies and principles into their own movements and business.
